I have been working out most of my life and training for sports. I am currently attending college and have a certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). I am interested in the effects of spinal alignment on overall health and am working towards becoming a Chiropractor.
I would say that, at this point, my area of expertise lies in athletic style training, along with weight-loss and toning. It’s my philosophy that “with good nutrition and dedication to your workouts, any goals can be achieved”.
When I’m not working or working out I still enjoy playing baseball and softball.
I started out at Northside Fitness as a member who loved to work out and take classes, and that grew into something so much greater. After realizing that I had a true passion for health and fitness I decided to gain more knowledge and put it to good use. In addition to the research I have done on my own I am certified through AFAA and ACE.
I love working with older women and new moms and I have had a lot of success helping women lose considerable amounts of weight. You can fall in love with fitness. I want to help you overcome what is in your way and discover what activity you will stick with for life.
Outside of the gym I stay very busy. I have four children so my interests have names! My hobbies include hiking, camping, church and my family.
Since childhood, athletics has always been a part of my life. As an adult, I have a passion for exercising outdoors. I am a downhill ski instructor, a certified ski patroller and a competitive long distance runner.
Professionally, I began in cardiac rehabilitation, doing stress testing and screening patients for heart related issues. I later worked as an exercise therapist prescribing programs for motor vehicle accident patients. My specialty is clients who want to do group or semi-private training, and clients who have rehabilitation needs.
My success comes from clients reaching their goals and full potential. I believe in challenging the muscles while having fun!
I started weight training in high school, it was something my dad and I shared an interest in. I joined Northside Fitness and became a client of Krista Fisher’s. From there, I graduated from Bryan College with an Associates of Science Degree in Health and Fitness Training and I am certified through NASM.
I enjoy sports performance training, weight-loss clients, and those who want to learn how to live a healthier lifestyle. I find it very rewarding. I love to work out and I definitely enjoy a good challenge. My philosophy is: No pain, No gain.
In addition to weight lifting, I also enjoy hiking, spending time with my family, and learning how to prepare new healthy meals.
I used to always play sports, and that’s how I stayed in shape. It wasn’t until after I had back surgery did I become interested in fitness. I suffered everyday with a lot of pain and finally I just decided that I wanted a better quality of life. I rehabilitated my back through weight training and I got a lot of joy out of it.
I am certified through ISSA, ACSM, AFAA and I am a Schwinn certified spin instructor. I am currently in college to become a Physical Therapist. I enjoy working with clients who are looking to lose weight, train for a specific sport, and rehab their back. I believe that this is a way of life and not just a “sometimey” thing. To me there is no such thing as “I can’t”. It’s either “I will” or “I won’t”.
During my free time I enjoy working out, playing basketball, outdoor activities, watching movies, hanging out with my family, especially my son.
I have been in the Fitness business for many years. I definitely have a good time helping people reach their goals. I have my Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition from Chico State. I am ACSM certified in Fitness and Health and I am a certified spin instructor. I train a wide spectrum of clients, from weight-loss and sports conditioning to cardiac rehabilitation and injury rehabilitation.
To me, exercise is a habit that alleviates many ailments and disorders. Try to find a mode of exercise you enjoy and challenge yourself daily.
In my free time I enjoy doing research, reading and challenging myself physically.
I started training my friends a few years ago and had a great time doing it. I
then decided to get my personal training certification. I am certified through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and I am currently attending Sacramento State University.
I have experience in sports specific training, weight loss and muscle building. In my professional opinion, I believe that you just need to “take it one day at a time”.
My hobbies and interest include working out, watching movies and being active.
I love being active and helping people. I have been involved in fitness for a very long time. I enjoy learning new techniques and keeping up with the latest advancements, like Trigger Point Therapy.
I am certified though AFAA for personal training and group exercise. I am certified to teach Yoga, Pilates, Kickboxing, Spin and TRX. I have many years of experience working with people who are just beginning to work out and people who are advanced. I teach my clients that no matter what obstacles they have to overcome, as long as they “never give up” and think “I can do it”, then they will reach their goals. I believe that exercise can be fun and challenging at the same time.
Outside of the club I love to go camping, hiking, running, cycling, quad riding, swimming and trying new things.
Before becoming a personal trainer I volunteered a year at CSU Chico’s Be Well Program and I also worked for a year under a Physical Therapist, assisting patients pre-operation, post-operation, as well as clients with injuries and back pain.
I have since become certified through the International Sports Science Association (ISSA) and I am currently attending CSU Chico for a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Movement Studies. I love teaching people new things and helping them find ways to improve their life and enjoy it at the same time!
In addition to working out, I love running, quad riding, hiking, camping, line dancing, snowboarding, fishing, hunting and off-roading.
